Balticon, Day 4 and other stuff

Made it to Balticon with plenty of time to spare this morning . . . go figure. Wandered around the con a bit, grabbed a bite to eat and then went to my 1200 panel, "Nonhumans as Heroes" with Joy Ward and klingonguy. I think the panel was a bit of a success. Not only did I have a great time with my fellow panelists, but I think the audience got something out of it. I base this observation on the fact that a couple of the books I suggested as good examples, (Earthman's Burden by Gordon Dickson and Poul Anderson and The Way of the Pilgrim by Dickson), were copied down by people in the audience as books they'd like to pick up. :)

After the panel was over, caught up with lady_cinnibar again and wandered around the dealers room. Spent a little time visiting with Tee Morris and Tony Ruggiero. Also talked with Kory Kaese of Mystic Station Designs about possibly doing some freelance editing for him. He gave me some stuff to "edit" and if he likes my work, I may be doing some work on the new edition of Chivalry and Sorcery. (Looks over at his first edition C&S on the library shelf and waxes nostalgic for a second or two.)

Oh, and by the way, I was a very happy and surprised recipient of a gift that I failed to mention in my Day 2 blog. Mur Lafferty, the "Grand Dame of Podcasting" and the producer of the Geek Fu Action Grip and I Should Be Writing podcasts, gave me a copy of her brand new book, Tricks of the Podcasting Masters. What an absolutely unexpected and highly appreciated gift and Mur, I apologize for not mentioning this sooner. You Rock!

Got some writing in on Harbinger tonight. Added another 1443 words to the total. I'm going to try and have this rewrite done by the end of July come hell or high water. Once I get finished with this and one more new chapter, I'll be going through the older stuff and cutting (hopefully lots) and pasting the rest in where it should be. The new stuff I've been developing in my head is going to make this a much better story, IMNSHO. ;)

Tomorrow, back to the salt mines. Yea!
