Three books at the University Bookstore . . . $171. OK, I realize things are a little more expensive than they were back in the 1970s and 80s, and yes, I'm living on the East Coast instead of the Mid-West . . . but, darn that hurt. I'm so glad I'm only carrying six hours a semester. I'd hate to think what it would run me if I was a full-time student. One of these books is almost four inches thick, I am so not looking forward to hauling this to class.
Built up some momentum on Dragon Couchant tonight. Wound up cranking out 2981 words, finishing Chapter Three and getting a good start on Chapter Four. I'm really comfortable with this section, but that might be because once a long time ago, this section was going to be the first issue of Chronicles of the Sea Dragon comic book. I've diverged a long way from where I was going with the comic five years ago, but the basic concept is still there beneath the surface. So, the original concept works as an outline for these next few chapters, but even if you had seen the sketches or the storyboards, there's still a LOT of new information percolating in my brain.
Here's hoping things keep moving at this pace.
