The guy playing the Rum-Tum-Tugger had entirely too much fun with the part, and the lady singing Grizabella had a GREAT singing voice. The dancer doing Mr. Mistoffolees was fantastic, to be blunt. I mean, the whole cast was good, not a bad singing voice in the group, although it was interesting hearing Old Deuteronomy as a baritone instead of a bass. I guess I'm too used to the guy singing on the CD that I bought back in 1989. (Yes, CATS was the first CD I bought. I'm a theater geek, so sue me.)
This is the third time we've seen CATS, but this is the first time the daughter-unit was old enough to really enjoy it. (last time we saw it was six years ago. EEEP!) You know, I may grouse about living here in the Balto-DC complex, but I have to admit, there are some cultural opportunities we get here between all the museums, the shows and the concerts that we probably wouldn't get elsewhere.
You take the good with the bad and enjoy life. That beats the heck out of sitting around grousing about everything.
Back to writing this evening though . . .
