Ravens and Darkness

Packed up my old office today and hauled everything out. Seems strange moving again, but such is the life of a contractor. At least, I have a place to move to. Hopefully, I should be able to settle in and really get down to business.

Spent some time tonight working on Noir. Finished Chapter Two tonight, adding 1993 words to my story. It's odd, writing a period piece like Noir at the same time I'm trying to wrap up a medieval fantasy like Harbinger. It's strange, I have a number of SF/F stories I've been developing, but something about Noir has really caught my fancy right now. It's also the first time I've really tried writing something without planning it out. I have no idea where this story is going, much less who the bad guys are or why. I blame it on my love of the old B&W movies like The Maltese Falcon, The Thin Man, and the old Shadow and Green Hornet radio shows.

Also got some work done on Chapter 28 of Harbinger tonight. Somehow, working on Noir got me motivated to work on this one also. Some weird synergy, I guess. Added 1158 words to my main story. I think I'm six chapters from finishing the story, give or take a chapter. Hopefully, I won't get too much wordier than I already have.
