Talking with the folks and writing

Talked to a person about doing some landscaping around the house. Definitely something I had been thinking about for a while. A little more money though than I have right at the moment, but hopefully, we can save it up and get it done this fall. It would be pretty nice to get done though, especially getting rid of all that ivy in the back yard. We've lost about 1/3 of the back yard to the ivy and it's rather annoying. The contractor has a really good plan for the yard and we really want to take him up on it.

Talked to the folks tonight. They just got back to Florida on Sunday, after driving 19 hours from Missouri. Sigh. I swear, sometimes having parents is worse than having kids. I understand their reasons for what they do, but I really worry about them at times. (bangs head on desktop) However, they're home and safe and that's a blessing in itself. They've sold their fifth-wheel, so I guess they're officially residents of the Sunshine State now. Although, if I see my Dad wearing a Buccaneer's hat, we may have to talk.

I had a nice long talk with them though, so I only had about an hour to work on Harbinger tonight. I knocked out 1226 words though. I know what I want to say in this section, so it's coming pretty quick, which is a pleasant change. Hopefully, I'll finish Chapter 23 tomorrow night and then it's on to the big finish.

Thanks! For some reason I was really sweating the LitCrit class. It wasn't easy by any stretch, but I think I made it harder on myself by overthinking stuff.

Just one class this fall (schedule just…

I'm going to take a critique of Dracula based on one school of literary criticism (say, Neo-Marxist) and then deconstruct that critique using the focus of a different school of theory (say feminist,…

Well, if you want to fly over here, I can put you up at my place and get you a guest ticket. *grin* Might even try to get your opinion of my scotch collection.

    Airfare is on you, though.
