I’m being followed by a Moonshadow

OK, and with 2.6 hours to go, Moonshadows is off to the editor of the Origins Game Fair‘s 2015 anthology.

This was one of those stories that simply refused to come together until the last possible minute. In fact, I’d say 2/3rds of the story were completely rewritten in the past week. Heck, you probably noticed this is the fourth title change to the story alone, which means I kept changing the focus of the story.

Moonshadows was a fun story to write though. I decided to do an homage to From the Earth to the Moon by Jules Verne. If you accept the concept of launching men to the moon in the 1880s via a giant cannon, then there’s easily the conceit of lunar colonies set up by the Great Powers by the turn of the 20th century. So, how exactly is the Great Game played on Luna and how does the start of World War I affect the colonists?

Those answers will have to wait until Origins Game Fair in June 2015.

*evil grin*
