First step complete

Just heard back from Bowie State. They've invited me in to do a two-hour essay to get a "sample" of my writing before they finish processing my application to begin working on my Masters of History. This will help determine how many of the prerequisites that I'm going to need to take.

What this really means is my old transcripts didn't put them off. It looks like my earlier, "less-than-stellar" career as a student at Central Missouri State did not derail my attempt this time. Either that or my decision to pursue my Associate Degree in English at Howard Community College may have tipped the scales in my favor.

No, I haven't been admitted yet.

But, that was a big hurdle to get over.

Have you considered that the most overriding concern is your ability to pay? ;-D

If that was true, I should have been accepted at the last two schools I applied for my MFA in Creative Writing. *grin*

Luckily, my company has a education fund we can tap into every year. I haven't used a lot of it, so I think I'm due. I just owe them 18 months after I finish. This way, I don't get trained and then jump to a competitor . . . unless they're willing to make up the difference in the hiring bonus.

Hmmmm. . . .

Step by Step is right.

Now, we're going to see if my time management skills are up to par. If I start this fall, I'll be juggling college classes, full-time job, kendo and writing.

I've come to the conclusion sleep is for the weak.
