A Tale of Two Days

Yesterday was pretty cool. Unforunately, today has not gotten off to a rousing start.

I heard yesterday morning that I officialy start my new job on Monday. (And there was much rejoicing! Yeah!) So, I spent part of yesterday packing up the office and then my office mates, former office mates, spouses, wishweaver and I met at one of the local micro-breweries to have a "Successfully delivered another project, Rich is leaving, it's April Fool's Day" celebration. There was massive consumption of nachos, crab pretzels, beer, salads, burgers, beer, buffalo wings (did I mention beer?).

I behaved myself since I was driving (darn), but we had a great time visiting with everyone without work hanging over our heads.

wishweaver was going to swing by work today so I could load all my office stuff into the Matrix rather than trying to shoehorn it all into the Miata. (It does fit, but that's not what a Miata's for.) As she started backing out, I had to flag her down before she got away.

Our front passenger tire was flat. *gah!*

Now, we just had our driver's side tire go flat two weeks ago. This is starting to become annoying. Hopefully, I can get this one changed, (had to call a wrecker the last time because I couldn't get the tire off the lugs), but I'm going to ask the tire company to really look this one over. The driver's side tire had a cracked valve stem. If this one has a cracked valve too, I want them to inspect the two rear tires so we can head this off.

These tires are just maybe a year old. They should not be having valve issues this soon.

Hopefully, we can get this straightened out. Luckily, Wish was able to use the daughter-unit's car to get to her last day of a class she's taking.

At least I finished packing up my office today and we're ordering out a nice lunch for my going-away here. Day has got to get better. *grin*

Just no beer at work. *darn it*

Thanks! For some reason I was really sweating the LitCrit class. It wasn't easy by any stretch, but I think I made it harder on myself by overthinking stuff.

Just one class this fall (schedule just…

I'm going to take a critique of Dracula based on one school of literary criticism (say, Neo-Marxist) and then deconstruct that critique using the focus of a different school of theory (say feminist,…

Well, if you want to fly over here, I can put you up at my place and get you a guest ticket. *grin* Might even try to get your opinion of my scotch collection.

    Airfare is on you, though.
