Tales of the Snowpocalypse - Day Two

Nature is a fickle mistress. My early report scoffed at the report of an impending snow storm. Apparently Mother Nature doesn't care to be scoffed at.

This is what greeted me this morning when I came downstairs:

Around 7pm last night, it started coming down. Not large fluffy flakes, but lots of little tiny fine snowflakes. And it started coming down. And coming down. As of 1200 this morning, we have a drift in front of our door that tops out over two feet. (See accompanying pictures - Yes, that is the top of a 2' tall T-square barely sticking out of the top.)

It is still coming down outside, and the flakes are beginning to get bigger for some reason. If you remember my last post, there was a picture of my Miata out in front of the house. Now, there's a large mound out in front of the house.

I'm foreseeing much shoveling in my future (probably right after I finish this snowpocalypse entry).

If you don't hear from me again, I'm probably in one of the drifts out front. Send brandy and hot chocolate.

The sidewalk was over 3' deep. The yard still has some snow left from earlier this week, so it's well over 4' drifts in place.

Giving some thought to grabbing some later tonight and making snow cream (snow ice cream . . . good stuff, but you need a deep snow and areas that haven't been walked through.)

Just remember - shoveling builds character and you weren't planning on doing anything over the weekend anyway...

Hoisted by my own petard, I see.

Didn't quite finish the driveway (Leaving the stuff at the end since the plows, if they ever show up, will just throw it all back into the driveway anyway.)

The pile in front of the door was impressive though.

It's not the snow thing - that's tiring, but not crippling - as it was the "moving *that amount* of snow thing. Totally not looking forward to what will probably be a 6+ hour job.

Yeah, that's why we went ahead and did some today. Did not want to have to do it all tomorrow.

You really shouldn't have scoffed at Mother Nature.

She does tend to be a tad tempermental.

I should have remembered the old Chiffon margarine commercials.
