Then, to top things off, my daughter comes down with a killer ear infection. Really painful with lots of popping noise and pressure. I took a sick day for both of us and kept an eye on her while my wife went in to work. Since my daughter's appointment wasn't until 1720, there wasn't any reason to make my wife take off early. Doctor gave her all kinds of medicine for her ear, so we're hoping it gets better soon.
At least I made my reservations for Archon today. My flight leaves BWI at 0648 (eek!) and arrives in STL at 0756 on Thursday, Sept 29. I really didn't plan on leaving that early, but it was almost an $80 difference in the price. I guess I can always sleep on the plane. Still haven't heard back from Dragon*Con yet. Hopefully something will turn up soon.
Also, I heard from Simon and Schuster today. My signed contract for Coventry should be arriving very soon. So, it's time to finish up all those edits my betas suggested and get this puppy ready for kradical to review.
At least I was able to get some work done today on my current WIP. I did some this morning while the daughter was watching cartoons and then more in my usual BIC time. I'm still not 100%, but I was able to knock out 1965 words on Harbinger. Of course, I've written myself into a corner with this chapter. I think there's something I need to add which wasn't in my original outline for the story and I used part of a chapter that's supposed to be five chapters from now in the one I just completed.
That's the problem with writing. You plan and you plot and the damn characters keep wandering off the path and wanting to do something on their own. Damn prima donnas. I'll eventually get them herded back in the general direction I need them to go, but we may visit a few rabbit trails before I can round them all up. I think I may just let them wander a bit, we can tie things up in the first edits.
