Oh the shame of it all

I just found out my entry on Wikipedia was deleted by one of their "video game experts".

I had an entry for my work on Gauntlet Dark Legacy: Paths of Evil posted by one of the readers of my book. However, someone who hadn't read the book (obviously) had this to say about it.

"14:57, 11 July 2007 Frecklefoot (Talk | contribs) (13,474 bytes) (→Impact: removed trivial tidbit on a book no one has heard of by a writer we don't even have an article about -- too trivial) (undo)"

Ah fame, how fleeting.

Then again, I haven't seen too many books listed by this so-called platinum editor, either.

Bah and humbug and a pox on his family.

Sorry to hear that, man. *is the original poster of your stuff*

Ah, the WikiGods have spoken. Smite upon you, and all that.

I'm currently enjoying a Wiki presence due to the benevolence of a reader. I have no illusions about how long that bit of fame will last.

Hey, I've gone from "competent but forgettable" to a "trivial writer".

Looks like my career is moving in the right direction *grin*

And that's it? You ran up the white flag and just surrendered without a fight? Good Lord, man... You mean to tell me you've never been engaged in a Wikipedia editing war???

So anyhoo, I went back through the archive and retrieved thanos6's original contribution, massaged it a bit, at added it to the entry for Gauntlet Dark Legacy, which I trust should be deemed perfectly relevant by the WikiPolice.

I almost never use Wikipedia. It was just serendipity that I found the entry in the first place. The only reason I was looking last night was because I was trying to be silly in a "serious" thread on Absolute Write, where some guy was pontificating about being remembered past his death because of his writing.

Me? I was going for the Steve Martin routine from The Jerk. Look! I'm in Wikipedia! I am somebody! *grin*. I figured that would be an appropriate counterpoint to the chest beating of the original poster.
