Still, even with that bit of news, I was still stressed by the time I got home. So,
Today, we met with the contractor and picked out the tiles we're going to be using for the remodeling. Since we had the accident with the refrigerator leaking, we're going to have to have the hardwood floors on the first floor replaced. We've decided to tile the kitchen and the entryway and just have the library and dining room done with hardwood. Even though we're still waiting on the guy to do the dig so we can have the walk-out put in our basement, we've definitely turned the corner on the house. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
So, I decided that since I didn't write Friday, I'd put in a double-shift tonight. Tonight it was time to revisit the Chronicles and I nearly finished Chapter 14, adding 2138 words to it. I hated to quit where I did in the middle of a sword fight, but I'm starting to get fuzzy around the edges and I'm getting distracted by the TV. Yeah, I know, it's easier to write with the TV off, but they're showing The Longest Day, which was one of my favorite books when I was a kid (along with Invasion, They're Coming, which tells the story of D-Day from the German point of view). Yeah, I know how the movie is going to end, but for me, this one has rewatchability. So, I'll finish the chapter tomorrow and maybe get started on Chapter 15.
Still ahead of target for the year so far.
So far.
