Well, my experiment over the four days I was off work (counting the weekend) didn't go quite as well as I had hoped. Between the daughter-unit being sick, dealing with the landscapers on Fri/Sat, company on Saturday as well as celebrating my anniversary Friday night, I didn't accomplish anywhere the writing I had hoped.

In fact, between Fri and Sun, I managed 700 words. Bleah.

Still, I wrote last night and tonight and now am 1952 words further into the Chronicles of the Sea Dragon than I was. And after watching Pirates of the Caribbean III on Saturday, I'm really jazzed up to be writing one of the big ship-to-ship combats in Dragon Couchant. I've got the courses of the ships plotted, it's just a matter of getting them to the big climactic scene.

(O.K., I hope it's a big climactic scene when I'm finished with it.)

Along with watching Pirates on Saturday, I indulged myself a bit Sunday night by watching two of my favorite movies, Sahara and To Have and Have Not. Yep, a little Bogie goes a long way to satisfying my cravings for old movies. It was really fun to watch him and Bacall in their first movie together. Wow, even sixty years later, they can still light up the screen!

I'm still working on that idea I had for another Doctor Who story. Hopefully, things will calm down at work enough for me to take advantage of having the National Cryptologic Museum nearby.

Well, time to call it a night and get some sleep.
