It seemed like a good idea when I signed up for it earlier this year. Good chance to mingle and see all the new stuff. Got a hotel right across the street at a cheaper rate than the "con" hotels. Got plenty of leave saved up at work for this.
However, I just don't have a good feel for this trip. Not certain with all the stuff going on around here that I should be spending the money. Yeah, I'll have to eat the cost of the admission and Gold Pass, but I'm not convinced that throwing more money into hotel, gas, tolls, food, bar, etc. is a good idea. Especially since the entire family is coming with me to Dragon*Con and NASFIC is a day longer this year than the average ARCHON.
If I hadn't had a book deal canceled and/or if I had heard anything more on this history book project, I'd probably be less worried, but I'm thinking, staying close to the ranch might be a better way to spend 2007 outside of attending the two above mentioned shows.
Obviously, I have annoyed the Convention Gods this year.
