Ah, it's always fun to change offices. Luckily, I hadn't unpacked when I changed contracts since I was sitting at a temporary desk anyway. However, I wasn't expecting to move to a completely new building this quickly.
The good part is, I have a lot of room now and the parking is better at the satellite building than at the main complex. The bad part is since I'm away from main campus, I can't easily ride into work with
wishweaver any more. It has been pretty nice the past couple of years getting to carpool in together most days. We used to bounce story ideas off of each other during the ride, which was a great way to pass the time.
I'm hoping to hear something regarding Coventry soon. I sent a letter out yesterday to
kradical and Elisa Kassin at Simon and Schuster regarding a question I had. Once I hear from them, I should be able to get the story sent to kradical.
Filled out my Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America dues and paperwork tonight. I'll get that out in the mail in the morning. I need to figure out some committee in SFWA to help out with. After all, if I'm going to "belong" to the organization, I might as well actually "do" something. Otherwise, all it is is a nice little blurb on my web site. (Which needs to be updated, yes, I know, put the wet noodles away!)
I'm done with conventions and other things until Labor Day. Still haven't heard yea or nay from Dragon*Con regarding my status. If they're going to turn me down, that's fine, but turn me down, don't just not answer. Sigh. At least, I'm on the list for Archon. Still looking forward to meeting Glen Cook for the first time. (Where did I put that Garrett, PI hardback?)
Anyway, I did get started back on Harbinger tonight. It was a light night, only knocked out 1185 words, but finished up Chapter 21. I'm already getting ideas I want to address when I do the first revision to this story, but I have to keep telling myself to write them down and get to them AFTER I finish the first draft. If I start revising now, it'll never get done. Hopefully, I'll be up to about 1500 words a night by the end of the week.
