Finished all my documentation by lunchtime today. I was sweating it out yesterday and then everything just seemed to fall into place. It's a nice feeling when another deadline was met even with the last minute "additions" to the project.

Now, I'm just waiting for my official notification that I'm leaving this contract to move to one I've been trying to get for about ten years. One that does NOT entail doing tech writing. Yes, I expect there will be writing with the project, but it'll be more like what I used to do in the Army and I can do that kind of writing in my sleep.

On a different front, I received the galleys for the Star Trek S.C.E. anthology "What's New". I have to have any corrections turned back in by 12 April, which shouldn't be a big issue. The only trouble is, I'm looking at it now and cringing. Yes, the story was released as an e-book four years ago but because these are galleys, I can't make the changes I REALLY wish I could.

*bangs head on desk*

Sometimes, revisiting an old story is NOT good for the ego. Yes, I'm proud of the story and I probably got my best reviews for it, but damn, I write a lot better now than I did then.

And speaking of writing, I had a good writing session tonight, knocking out 1874 words on Steel on Target. I should finish Chapter 17 tomorrow night and then start the long slide into the climax of the book. Once they finish this chapter, it's going to be pretty darn busy for the gang in the 7th Armored Cavalry.

Oh, and the weather was 71 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Yes, the Miata top was down for driving after work. *grin* Now, if it stays like this, I should be getting the bike out soon to start building my endurance for kendo. I love spring/summer/fall. (Winter, not so much.)

Welcome to the club! :)

Look at the bright side: it would be much worse if you didn't cringe when reading some of your old work, because it would mean you hadn't become a better writer.

There is that, but it would be nice if I had sold some recent writing so I could point to it and say "See, it's better now, I promise." *wibble*
